SIG continues to promote the development of continuous innovation. To that end, SIG encourages research and development of sustainable products and solutions.

The Research and Development (R&D) division conducts research related to the cement production process and packaging, raw material development, cement product development, and building material product development. These efforts are made to answer the global challenge of the need for sustainable products and solutions.

Our research facilities are located in several locations, including the SIG Research Laboratory in Gresik, East Java, and the Research Center in Narogong, West Java. Several concrete subsidiary laboratories are also research facilities.

Research & Development Policy

SIG policies to achieve sustainable programs in the field of research and development consist of:

  • 1. Centralized management of research and development activities in the SIG Group based on market direction and construction trends.

  • 3. 12RI Management (Indonesia Infrastructure Research and Innovation Institute) supports BUMN Center of Excellences Infrastructure Cluster
  • 4. Laboratory management standardization and certification.
  • 5. Collaboration and cooperation with the pentahelix scheme.
 
We continue to encourage the use of non-OPC cement types that are environmentally friendly. SIG has developed it in various types and can be adapted to the type of building or construction required by the customer.

Every product we produce has gone through a series of research and trials in accordance with national standards.

SIG innovates by presenting PwrPro, which is the first high early strength (HE) hydraulic cement product in Indonesia. PwrPro has passed the test at the Center for Materials and Technical Goods (B4T) of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia using the latest standard SNI 8912-2020, namely Hydraulic Cement Performance Specifications.

PwrPro is produced with an environmentally friendly formula with a Green Product predicate with a Gold rating from the Green Product Council Indonesia. PwrPro can be used in various constructions of buildings and infrastructure, such as the manufacture of cast or precast concrete.

Since 2021, SIG has officially started marketing Mortar Indonesia products, instant cement in various types. This product makes it easy for customers in construction.

SIG also continues to develop Dynahome services in various housing projects. Dynahome is expected to help accelerate the fulfillment of affordable housing needs for low-income people.

The development of these innovative products is aimed at strengthening SIG' positioning as a provider of building materials solutions. A complete SIG product portfolio for various applications, so that consumers can find products that are more accurate, according to their construction needs.

Business Process Transformation (e-Service)

Besides focusing on product innovation, we are also engaged in business process transformation innovation in the laboratory. SIG has provided a digital-based R&D Holding System (Web Research & Innovation Center) to keep up with developments in the digital 4.0 era. This system is a digital portal containing information on R&D activities. This portal is also a promotional media as well as a profit center for ISO 17025 certified research laboratories, by providing paid services to external parties.

Marketing Innovation

SIG strengthens distribution and digitization of marketing, sales, and supply chain processes. We take advantage of the SIG digital platform, namely SobatBangun, AccessToko, and the Official Store SIG in one of the Indonesian e-commerce platforms as an efficient and effective sales strategy, responding to changes in consumer behavior who prefer online shopping.

The commitment to provide the best service to partners is evidenced by the integrated technology in AccessToko. Distributors and retail stores can view and order all of our products, pay with multiple payment methods, and update shipping addresses using a single app.
