Outstanding Students Join the Student Program to Get to Know the Archipelago

Makassar, August 11, 2018 – Semen Indonesia in collaboration with PT Industri Kapal Indonesia (Persero) and PT Kawasan Industri Makassar (Persero) in the BUMN Present Program for the State organized “Students Get to Know the Archipelago”. As many as 25 high school / vocational / high school students with outstanding achievements from the province of West Sumatra accompanied by a supervising teacher visited South Sulawesi Province for 7 days.

The release of “Students Get to Know the Archipelago” was marked by the drum breaking by the President Director of PT Semen Tonasa, Subhan, along with Representatives from Kodam XIV Hasanuddin Aster Colonel Heri Prakosa and Representatives from the Makassar H. Mission Education Office in the Krakatau Room Makassar Horison Hotel, (11/8) .

Director of Semen Tonasa, Subhan, who represents Semen Indonesia, said 25 high school / vocational / SLB students and 7 companions from the West Sumatra Province will be introduced to the South Sulawesi Province for 7 days. They will be invited to visit various places of history and education. Instead, 27 students and 3 companions from South Sulawesi Province will visit the Province of West Sumatra.

“Student Activities Getting to Know the Archipelago is a student exchange program between provinces across the archipelago. The aim is to instill a sense of pride and love of the motherland early on to students. The diversity of the Archipelago’s wealth and regional potential was introduced through direct interaction of students with the Government and the community in the Province visited, “he explained

The presence of SOEs in all provinces in Indonesia is expected to be a driver of economic development in the regions, especially the 3T regions (foremost, outermost and disadvantaged).

The series of student activities from West Sumatra for 7 days in South Sulawesi included visiting Fort Rotterdam fort, Losari Beach, Sanggar Celebes Indonesia, Regional Library, Bantimurung-Bulusaraung National Park, Benteng Somba Opu, SMA 2 Malino Tinggi Moncong, Royal Tomb of Binamu Jeneponto, Jenepontop PLTB and Trans Studio Makassar.

“Through this student exchange, the company is committed to fostering and fostering a sense of national pride and watering land for the younger generation, especially school students. Raising awareness that diversity is a strength of the Republic of Indonesia. “In the middle of the young generation, the great potential of the nation can be cultivated well which will bring Indonesia into a great nation,” he explained.
